Get2Go Challenge 2008
The SPARC Get2Go Challenge grand final was held at the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre (OPC) on Great Barrier Island from 8 – 13 December 2008.
The students were challenged both physically and mentally in a variety of outdoor sports and activities, including, kayaking, orienteering, sailing and raft building.
Nine time Coast to Coast winner, Steve Gurney was fantastic throughout sharing his experience and passion for adventure sports with the teams, assisting the TV crew and taking on roles alongside the OPC instructors.
Congratulations to the combined mixed team from New Plymouth Boys and New Plymouth Girls High Schools who took out first place, with Cambridge High School second and Trident High School from Whakatane a close third.

Who organised the Get2Go Challenge?
The Get2Go Challenge is run by OPC and supported by SPARC. It is a team adventure challenge for Year 9 and 10 students, designed to encourage them to get active in New Zealand’s great outdoors.
