Get2Go Challenge 2006
The final of the inaugural Get2Go challenge was held at the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre (OPC) on Great Barrier Island from 11-15 December 2006.
Students were challenged both mentally and physically in a range of land and aquatic-based outdoor activities, including rock climbing, sea kayaking, bridge and raft building, orienteering and mountain-biking.
Who won the challenge?
The Get2Go challenge was won by Whangarei Boys' High School - congratulations!
Second was Whangarei Girls' High School, and third was Massey High School.
Windsurfing Olympic Gold Medallist Barbara Kendall was at the finishing line to congratulate and award prizes to the competitors.

The following 10 schools were invited to participate in the Get2Go final because of their excellent performances in the regional challenges:

- St Cuthbert's College
- Massey High School
- Long Bay College
- Wentworth College
- Whangarei Boys' High School
- Whangarei Girls' High School
- Te Kura Kaupapa O Te Rangi Aniwaniwa
- Elim Christian School
- Rosehill College.
Who organised Get2Go?
SPARC partnered with the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre (OPC) to set-up Get2Go, which is designed to encourage participation in outdoor pursuit activities.
In 2006, the inaugural Get2Go competition was available to teams of Year 9 and 10 students from schools throughout Auckland and Northland.
