No Exceptions

Strategic Framework

The No Exceptions Strategy and Implementation Plan is looking to a four-year implementation - 2005 to 2009 - and as such will reach into SPARC's next strategic cycle.

The No Exceptions Strategy is committed to the principles outlined in the New Zealand Disability Strategy, which has as its vision a fully inclusive society. No Exceptions is based on the following objectives from the New Zealand Disability Strategy.

  • Encourage and educate for a non-disabling society.
  • Foster leadership by disabled people.
  • Support lifestyle choices, recreation and culture for disabled people.
  • Enable disabled children and youth to lead full and active lives.
  • Collect and use relevant information about disabled people and disability issues.

The No Exceptions Strategy crosses the boundaries of high performance and physical recreation and focuses on:

  • organisational and sector development
  • best practice examples, tools and information
  • training and education.

Each area of focus has specific strategies and priorities for action.
