Way2Go – enabling active choices in Nelson/Tasman: Induction document
Induction document
Part of the structure of the Way2Go communication channel involves regional coordinators (hub coordinators), who are responsible for delivering/providing information and some support within their particular region. The success of the project in a particular region is significantly reliant upon the coordinators. When there is a staff change, it is important to ensure that new staff have the necessary brief and are able to take up the role as efficiently as possible. The Way2Go Regional Advisor is responsible for ensuring this transition process is smooth and the information remains with the programme or hub. To help hub coordinators settle into their role, Way2go has a comprehensive induction document. The document explains:
- Way2Go communication channel
- Key Way2Go messages – especially Push Play
- The Way2Go website
- Each of the Way2Go programmes
- Administration requirements for hub coordinators
- The new extension to Way2Go – Way2Go Community Pathway Project, and
- Lists of what other resources are available if needed e.g. Nutrition guidelines etc.
Student participation
Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) students are involved in the delivery of services around the Activity Trailer in particular, In Your Neighbourhood, and elsewhere, as part of their training. Aside from a great opportunity for the students to put their studies into practice, this is also helpful to the programme, as it provides voluntary staff for community events.
