So windy the washing keeps flying off the clothes line? That's the perfect day to Push Play and make a kite!

What you'll need:
  • A piece of paper 29 cm x 42 cm
  • Thin wood or a stick, 33.5 cm long
  • Sticky tape
  • Lots of string (a whole ball of it)
  • A 20 cm stick (for the string)
  • Scissors (remember, they're sharp!)
How to make it:
  1. Fold the paper in half.

  2. Fold again along the diagonal line A.

  3. Fold back one side forming kite shape and place tape firmly along fold line AB.

  4. Place the 33.5 cm piece of wood from point C to D. Tape it down firmly.

  5. Flip over and fold the front flap back and forth until it stands straight up. Stick tape on flap at E and make a hole through it.

  6. Tie one end of the string to the hole and wind the rest onto the 20cm stick.

Kite flying is great at the beach or park - just make sure there are no power lines around. (Check with an adult before you get your kite into the air.)
