Action Packs for Kids
Waterslide
Here's a great way to stay cool this summer and slam your mates!
What you'll need:
- A large piece of plastic. Try to find some around the house - there could be some packaging plastic in the garage. If not, pull out your pocket money, grab an adult, and head to the hardware store - about 5 metres is a good amount.
- A grassy slope
- The garden hose
- Heaps of washing-up liquid from the kitchen
- Tent pegs
The set-up:
- Run the piece of plastic down the grassy slope (check there are no sharp bits in the grass). Make sure there is enough room for a run up, and check that you've got a stopping area at the bottom so you don't slide into anything ugly. Attach the plastic to the ground with tent pegs (pushed well in).
- Turn the hose on to a trickle and sit it at the top of the slide, making sure it wets all the plastic. Squirt washing-up liquid to make the slide really slippery!
- Go and Push Play - the sliding way!
Before your first slide - push an adult down it for a test run, and for a laugh!
