No Exceptions Investment 2009-2012

SPARC has developed its 2009-2012 investment in response to review findings from its previous No Exceptions Strategy and Implementation Plan 2005-2009, and in order to align future No Exceptions investments to SPARC’s vision and mission.

SPARC’s 2009-2012 No Exceptions investment approach now focuses on the three core goals of increasing participation, building capability, and promoting opportunities.

Investment goals

The No Exceptions investment is intended to strongly centre on increasing disabled New Zealanders participation in sport and physical recreation. The overarching goal of the No Exceptions programme is to:

“Increase disabled New Zealanders’ participation in sport and recreation.”

The No Exceptions goal signals SPARC’s intention to invest in and enable a stronger platform for disabled New Zealanders to participate in sport and recreation in their communities.

No Exceptions will have a particular emphasis on:

  • more disabled New Zealanders active in sport and physical recreation;
  • more New Zealanders participating in the support and delivery of sport and recreation to disabled New Zealanders (building capacity); and
  • promoting access to sport and recreation and the achievements of disabled New Zealanders, to encourage participation by more disabled New Zealanders.

Guidelines for investment

No Exceptions investment is a targeted, contestable fund, and applications for investments from one (1) to three (3) years will be accepted.
