New Zealanders believe winning in international events is important. It contributes to social, economic and health benefits and helps create a strong sense of national identity and pride.
SPARC (Sport & Recreation New Zealand) aims to build New Zealand winners by supporting the athletes and teams that can win at an international level, and the coaches and organisations that are behind them.
SPARC invests in and supports elite sport through its high performance network, the New Zealand Academy of Sport (NZAS).
High Performance Strategy
SPARC's approach to delivering support and investment is outlined in the High Performance Strategy 2006-12.
