8: TV and radio to encourage change
Initiative 8 is 'Use TV and radio to encourage change'.
What's Happening?
Studio 2/The Hub
Studio 2 is a daily after-school and Saturday morning television show. From May 2007 the show will include Mission-On messages and content through a range of segments focused on sports, fitness and health information and activities
The television show is complemented and supported by a web space where young people can discuss issues with online friends, presenters and guests (who can be involved from anywhere in the world); where they post their own videos, photos, and stories; and where they can access all of the content created for them, both new and archived, 'as they want it, where they want it, when they want it'.
Activate
Activate is a new cooking game show aimed at children aged 10 to 14 years. As well as nutrition, the show will include content about physical activity including physical activity ideas and challenges. Activte will screen in February 2008.
Other television initiatives
Other television projects will also be undertaken as part of this initiative over the coming years.
